The Design

Obverse: Features Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ celebrated Liberty design, originally introduced on the historic 1907 Double Eagle. Lady Liberty strides confidently forward carrying a torch and olive branch, with rays of sunlight extending behind her.

Reverse (1986-2021 Type 1): Designed by Miley Busiek, featuring a family of bald eagles representing strength, unity, and the American spirit.

Reverse (2021-Present Type 2): Designed by Jennie Norris, showcasing a detailed close-up portrait of a bald eagle that emphasizes the bird’s power and character.

Why Choose the 1/2 oz Gold Eagle?

The 1/2 oz Gold Eagle offers a middle ground between smaller fractional gold coins and full 1 oz bullion coins. Many buyers appreciate the lower entry cost compared to a full ounce while still acquiring a substantial amount of physical gold in one of the world’s most recognized bullion series.

Please note: Year and reverse type will vary depending on inventory available at the time of purchase.
